Itinerary Idea: A Week of Sailing Italy - Venice to heel of Italy on a Luxurious 50ft Performance Catamaran

This one-of-a-kind sailing journey begins in Venice and concludes in Marina Agana, Croatia, covering approximately 400 nautical miles of Italy’s stunning Adriatic coastline. Experience a blend of historic cities, charming coastal villages, and breathtaking natural landscapes, all while enjoying the luxury of a fully equipped catamaran.



Day 1: Venice – Setting Sail from the Floating City

Your journey begins in Venice, one of the world’s most enchanting destinations. After boarding your luxurious 50ft catamaran, settle in and enjoy a welcome drink while taking in views of the Grand Canal. Spend the afternoon exploring Venice’s historic landmarks like St. Mark’s Basilica and the Rialto Bridge before enjoying a gourmet dinner on board.

Adventure Highlight: Glide through the city on a private gondola ride or explore Venice’s hidden canals by water taxi.


Day 2: Chioggia – The Little Venice

Sail south to Chioggia, a charming fishing town known for its colorful houses and lively market. The 20-nautical-mile journey offers stunning views of the Venetian Lagoon. Stroll through Chioggia’s canal-lined streets, visit its famous fish market, and enjoy a classic Italian seafood lunch.

Adventure Highlight: Rent bikes and explore the Po Delta Nature Reserve, a UNESCO-listed ecosystem teeming with wildlife.


Day 3: Ravenna – Byzantine Mosaics & Historic Charm

Continue your sail 40 nautical miles south to Ravenna, a city famous for its breathtaking Byzantine mosaics and rich Roman history. Wander through UNESCO-listed sites like Basilica di San Vitale and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, then enjoy a traditional Emilia-Romagna dinner on board.

Adventure Highlight: Join a mosaic-making workshop or take a cooking class to master handmade pasta.


Day 4: Pescara – Beaches & Seaside Promenades

Sail 80 nautical miles to Pescara, a vibrant coastal city with golden beaches and a lively marina. Take a leisurely walk along the Ponte del Mare, explore the city’s historic center, or simply relax on the Adriatic’s sandy shores.

Adventure Highlight: Try paddleboarding or jet skiing along Pescara’s scenic coastline.


Day 5: Vieste – The Pearl of the Gargano

Head 90 nautical miles south to Vieste, a stunning whitewashed town perched on the edge of Gargano National Park. With its dramatic cliffs, sea caves, and pristine beaches, Vieste is a highlight of the Italian Adriatic. Wander through the old town’s winding alleys, visit the Pizzomunno rock, and soak in breathtaking coastal views.

Adventure Highlight: Explore the famous Grotta Campana, one of Italy’s most beautiful sea caves, by kayak or dinghy.


Day 6: Last Italian Stop – Otranto or Bari

Sail 100 nautical miles further south and choose between:

  • Otranto: A picturesque seaside town at the tip of Italy’s heel, with medieval fortifications and stunning turquoise waters.

  • Bari: A lively port city offering a mix of historic charm, cultural sites, and fantastic cuisine, including its famous orecchiette pasta.

Adventure Highlight: Visit Baia dei Turchi, one of Puglia’s most stunning hidden beaches, or explore Bari Vecchia, a vibrant old town full of life.


Day 7: Return Journey to Marina Agana, Croatia

On your final day, set sail back across the Adriatic to Marina Agana, covering approximately 120 nautical miles. Enjoy a peaceful morning on board, soaking in the last views of the Italian coastline. Upon arrival at Marina Agana, disembark and reflect on an incredible week of sailing, adventure, and discovery.
